Last night at the gym Ellie's friend Lindsay was supposed to meet her there. As it turns out she stayed home. So when I picked up Ellie, this is how the conversation went:
Me "Ellie, I'm sorry that Lindsay didn't come to play. Did you still have fun?"
Ellie "Oh, I'm fine with that. I met a new friend, we had fun. She did everything I told her to do."
Me "oy"

Today Katie is home with me and I'm in a meeting (of course) so Katie wanted to make her own lunch. She just walked upstairs and looked miserable...
