Katie's Homework Project
This week Katie came home with a different homework assignment. Usually she comes home with some spelling, some math, a little vocabulary, things like that. This week she came home with a story writing assignment. On Monday night she did a story web (plotting out characters, title, location, problem and solution). On Tuesday night she wrote her rough draft. Tonight she tweaked her draft and wrote her final draft to read to her class tomorrow. She wanted me to post it on the blog for you to read!
The Fun Day by Katie Sims
Once upon a time there was a chicken walking through the park. He bounced up and down, he looked back and saw a DINOSAUR! He ran quick, almost as fast as a cheetah. Then he stopped because he saw a very beautiful flower. It was a rose. It smelled good. And then he noticed the dinosaur was coming towards him. The chicken got scared. Very, very scared. The the dinosaur stopped and said "that is a very pretty rose. Can I have it?" "NO!" said the chicken. "Wait! We will take turns." The dinosaur gave the chicken a hug. Let's meet here at 3:00 every day to visit our flower! And that is just what they did.
The End

This is amazingly similar to an improv scene that I did last week. Except it was a grizzly bear and a chicken. Every thing else was exactly the same.
pretty advanced assignment for a seven year old!
Just imagine what Ari will have to do by the time he is in first grade!!!
